KOMBUCHA: The Care and Feeding of Your Magical Pet!
Learn how to brew and care for your very own kombucha and SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast). In this workshop you'll learn the care and feeding of this magical pet and have the opportunity to make and taste kombucha mocktails. Each participant will leave with a scoby and starter in a 16 ounce mason jar.

HERE’S SOME FAQ FOR THE CLASS!
Do I need experience to do this?
No! The process is super simple. The hardest thing for me was getting over the idea of a scoby and not getting grossed out. Once that's out of the way, it's all very easy.
Am I going to smell (lol)?
Your clothes and body won't smell of it, but in the air in the area around your kombucha you may experience a fleeting odor similar to vinegar.
Where do I keep my "Pet" when I'm at home?
Covered but able to breath in a cool dark place undisturbed.
How long does my "pet" last?
For as long as you care for it. I read an article about a man in Russia who had a 30 year old scoby.
What if I get tired of caring for it?
If this is a permanent break up, then I suggest composting. If you just need a break, there are ways you can let your kombucha take a nap or even longer term hibernation so that you can revive it when you're ready for it again. We'll cover that in the workshop!
