It’s a new year with new New Year Resolutions – Yay! One of the world’s most famous New Year Resolutions is to get fit and live a healthier lifestyle. To achieve this, we have to dedicate our lives to the things we all LOVE…diet and exercise! I know I know, this doesn’t sound like fun, but it can be. I promise! First, instead of a New Year Resolution, let’s call it a “goal”. I feel like it comes with less of a stigma and doesn’t sound like we need to impress ourselves with immediate results. That’s the thing with diet and exercise, we need time to see results, and some goals take time. Next, find a workout that you enjoy, whether it be Zumba, boxing/kickboxing, yoga, barre workouts, crossfit, at-home workouts – whatever! If you enjoy it, it will feel more like a hobby than a chore, and you’ll look forward to it. Plus, you can’t beat the feeling of just finishing a workout. Not only do you physically feel well, but it’s so rewarding! Sounds fun, right?!
Okay, so how about diet? We can make our diets fun, too! Substituting our favorite foods with healthier alternatives are a great way to alter our diets. Think of it this way, you know how we always ask ourselves “why can’t the bad foods be good for you?” Substitute the bad foods with the closest good food alternative, and voila! You’re eating a healthy version of the tasty bad foods.
